Rise and shine in the Spanish sun.

08:00 After a short climb up to Park Guell, wake your weary eyes by watching the sunrise from one of the best spots that the city has to offer. Walk around the park´s brilliantly green space while taking in the spectacular views of Barcelona´s skyline. It is not a view that will disappoint!

09:00 Time for breakfast. Take the metro to Urquinaona and walk through the narrow streets of El Born to gastrobar Elsa y Fred, a cozy spot to have breakfast with creative and signature cuisine.

Santa Maria del Mar, Barcelona

10:00 Weaving around El Borndiscover its little treasures such as the Santa Maria del Mar Church and little boutique shops. Make your way towards the Gothic area and the Cathedral de la Santa Cruz y Santa Eulalia, which is a must-see and one of the city´s largest tourist attractions. Feel the history of the cathedral and enjoy the fine examples of Gothic architecture and Roman walls. At the entrance there is a garden located in a cloister and the cathedral consists of an imposing nave lit by large windows dating from the 15th century.

11:00 Stop for a coffee at Placa Reial, which is by many considered as the most beautiful square of Barcelona. It is dominated by a picturesque fountain and surrounded by palm trees. Along Placa Reial you will find one of the most famous pedestrian walkways in the world; La Rambla.

La Boqueria Mercat

12:00 On the boulevard of La Rambla you will find Barcelona´s most famous market called La Boqueria. As soon as you have entered the market a real feast for the senses begins. Make your way to Plaza Catalunya and fashionistas have to make sure to visit El Corte Ingles, the largest department store of the city for some real shopping.

13:00 While walking along Passeig the Gracia towards the neighbourhood of Gracia, take your time and discover along the route the cities best examples of Gaudi´s work – Casa Batlló and Casa Mila. Antoni Gaudi was an Catalonian architect, best known for his Catalan Modernism – his influences were noted to be that of architecture, nature and religion.

If you want to taste one of the best tapas in Barcelona, go to none other than Cerveseria Catalana! Don’t be surprised if there is a waiting line for this restaurant. Try to find a seat at the bar and have some of their delicious tapas – the wait is well worth it.

16:00
Visiting Barcelona is never complete without seeing the Sagrada Familia. This Roman Catholic church is designed by one of the world´s most famous architects – Antoni Gaudi. It is part of a UNESCO World Heritage and is to be completed by 2026. If you are planning to visit the Sagrada Familia, don´t forget to buy tickets online in order to avoid queues! After visiting the basilica, relax and take a break on the Sagrada familia´s plaza with its trees and flowers, which is just in front of it.

Time for a siesta

17:30 Visit the bakery Puiggros, located only five minutes away from the Sagrada Familia. The bakery is a historic establishment that offers a great variety of local bread, pastries, teas and coffees. You should definitely take a look at this little gem!

18:00 Take the metro to Olympica and take a walk towards the beach. From there on you can walk along the wonderful beaches, which is perfect for resting after a day of sightseeing, towards Barceloneta beach. Barceloneta beach is the most popular beach with its promenade with restaurants.  Continuing along Barceloneta towards Port Vell, you will see the city´s yacht basin and many seafood restaurants.

19:30 Enjoy a signature cocktail on the rooftop terrace of Restaurant 1881, located on top of the Museu d´historia de Catalunya, which offers breathtaking views of Barcelona´s harbor and its lights.  The museum showcases Catalonia´s history and cultural heritage and is housed in ¨Palau de la mar¨, which is part of the former port warehouses and the only structure from Barcelona´s old port that is still standing.

21:00 End the day with a gastronomic experience in restaurant DOQ Barcelona and try the chef´s take on combing traditional, modern Spanish and international cuisine, while enjoying a glass of local cava.
